When you're evaluating event photography packages in New Mexico, the quotes you get will look similar on the surface. Two-hour coverage. Digital gallery. Commercial license. But the details — the ones that actually matter when you receive your images — vary enormously between photographers, and most clients don't know what questions to ask until after they've already paid.
Here's what FFMG includes in our event photography packages, explained without the fine-print hedging.
The Three Package Tiers — Straightforward
| What's Included | Essential | Professional | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coverage hours | |||
| Edited images | |||
| Delivery timeline | |||
| Online gallery | |||
| Commercial license | |||
| Social cuts (formatted) | |||
| Second photographer | |||
| Rush delivery (same-day) |
These aren't fixed — they're the starting structure. If you need something different (a shorter shoot, a larger event, a specific deliverable), tell us about it in your project intake and we'll build a custom package around what you're actually running.
What "Edited Images" Actually Means
Not all editing is the same. There are photographers in New Mexico who deliver "all photos" and send you 4,000 unprocessed RAW files in a Dropbox folder. That's not editing — that's data transfer.
When FFMG delivers edited images, we mean:
- Color corrected — exposure, white balance, and contrast normalized across the full set. No blown highlights, no crushed blacks.
- Selectively processed — we go through every frame and keep the ones worth keeping. Action sequences, reactions, candids. The discards are discards for a reason.
- Batch processed — not individually retouched, but consistently graded so the set looks like one project, not 30 different lighting conditions.
For sports photography specifically, we do keywording and tagging — player numbers, team names, action type. That makes the gallery searchable for coaches and athletic directors who need to find specific moments fast.
Delivery: The Details That Actually Matter
Most photographers say "delivery in 1–2 weeks." FFMG operates differently — especially for event coverage.
For recurring clients (season contracts, school athletics), we run a Sunday delivery cycle — galleries posted every Sunday morning for the previous week's coverage. Coaches, athletic directors, and boosters get a reliable rhythm they can build their communications around.
Case Study: Rio Rancho High School Football
RRHS Football Season — 12,000+ Still Images, Every Sunday
In the fall of 2025, FFMG covered the full Rio Rancho High School football season on a Premium season contract. Here's what that looked like in practice:
- Games covered: 10 regular season games + 2 playoff games
- Images delivered: 12,400+ edited stills across the full season
- Delivery: Private gallery updated every Sunday morning following the week's game
- Tags applied: Player number, position, team side, action type — searchable by coaches and athletes
- Social cuts: 8 formatted selects per game (150 total across the season) — used by the school's social media team and athletic department
- Print access: School and booster club had full commercial reprint rights for programs, banners, and merchandise
What Affects Pricing in New Mexico
Event photography rates in New Mexico vary based on a few specific factors — and it's worth being transparent about what drives the numbers:
Coverage Duration
Most quotes start with hours of coverage. A two-hour corporate event is priced differently than a full-day conference or a season contract. Longer coverage means more shots, more editing, and more gallery management — all priced accordingly.
Turnaround Requirements
If you need images within 24 hours of the event (same-day recap for a social event, press deadline for a news cycle), that requires a dedicated workflow and priority processing. It's absolutely doable — just tell us upfront so we can staff accordingly.
Deliverables Beyond Photography
Video, social cuts, print files, re-edits for different formats — each add-on adds to the scope. Most clients come to us for photography and discover they also need formatted social content. We handle both, so you're not managing two vendors.
Location and Travel
We serve Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and the broader New Mexico region. Events within 60 miles of Albuquerque have no travel fee. Events further out can be quoted on request — distance and duration determine the number.
What to Ask Before Booking Any Photographer in New Mexico
Before you sign a contract, run through this checklist:
- How many images will I receive? If they can't give you a range, that's a red flag.
- What's included in "editing"? Batch vs. selective processing makes a massive difference in quality.
- What's the delivery timeline? "Soon" is not a timeline.
- How long is the gallery available? Some photographers take galleries down in 30 days — that makes it impossible for athletes, coaches, and families to access their photos later.
- Do I get full commercial rights? For schools, businesses, and organizations — you need to be able to use the images without licensing restrictions. Ask upfront.
- Can I get formatted social versions? If you need to post to Instagram or Facebook, you want ready-to-use formats, not a cropped version of a horizontal photo.
We're happy to answer every one of these questions before you book. Send us a message or fill out the project intake form — we'll give you a straight answer on availability and pricing within 24 hours.
